Silver Line Delivers the SmartWay

In addition to exceptional vinyl windows and doors, Silver Line trucks now also deliver environmental benefits as a SmartWay Transport partner. 

SmartWay is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program that encourages companies to adopt freight transportation practices that help protect the environment, reduce fuel consumption and improve air quality. As a SmartWay Transport partner, Silver Line's delivery operations team works with the EPA to calculate our fleet's environmental performance, set improvement goals and calculate cost savings.

For example, Silver Line recently installed on-board computers in all of our commercial trucks to gather data and measure driving performance, such as idle time and driving practices. Desired levels were then set to ensure lower standard speed limits and better fuel efficiency, while reducing greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions.

Participating in the SmartWay program builds on Silver Line's long-standing commitment to environmental sustainability. For more than a decade, Silver Line has offered energy efficient ENERGY STAR® qualified products, and as part of the Andersen Corporation family of brands, was recently recognized for the second year in a row as ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year in the category of window manufacturing.
